As a business owner, one of the most important things you can do is share information with your customers. If you’re just getting started, social media management tools can be expensive, but luckily there are a few free options available.
If you need to resize a photo you want to use on a website or in a social media post, you can use Irfanview to do that. You can also use it to create new images and flip, crop, or add borders or frames.
If you need to use FTP to upload a file to your website, Filezilla is the best client to use. You’ll need the username, password, and port you need to connect to on your host’s server. Once you’ve entered those, you can upload or download files to your website via FTP.
If you’ve decided to record a podcast for your website, Audacity is a good choice for recording podcasts for free. You can use it to record audio and make changes to it, such as deleting words you don’t want others to hear, adding background music, and fading sounds in and out.
Once you’ve finished recording a podcast episode, you can upload it to the Podomatic website to publish it on your website. Uploading it to Podomatic gives you embed code that you can copy and paste into the page you’ve dedicated to your podcast episodes.
IFTTT and Zapier
If you don’t have time to post content to your different social media channels, websites like IFTTT and Zapier can make it easier to manage your social media. They both publish applets (or Zaps as they’re called on Zapier) that allow you to publish your posts to different social media channels when they meet certain conditions.
These are just a few free tools that can make managing your social post and content creation easier. If you know of any others I haven’t mentioned here, please comment below.
