The letter C can be elusive to some people. There are many words that begin with the letter C that people can’t remember how to spell. Originally, C made the same sound as G, but because of the Etruscans, the Romans had a bit of a problem, and they ended up using it for both the sound G and the sound K. The letter B was part of the Phoenician alphabet more than 3000 years ago. At that time, the letter was called beth and looked slightly different; however, it made the same sound it makes today, and was second in the alphabet.
